An air traffic control simulation with highly realistic radar behavior. This is much like the real thing … never quite enough airspace and always one too many aircraft! A great game for aviation enthusiasts and aspiring air traffic controllers.

Instructions

Click on the aircraft to bring up the control panel. Assign headings, speeds and altitudes as necessary to establish the aircraft onto the runway approach path. You must maintain “separation”. That means all aircraft must be at least 3 miles apart at all times, or separated vertically by at least 1000′ at all times. If not, you will be visited by an angry supervisor!

Instructions

Click on an aircraft (square) and use the menu that appears to send the aircraft instructions.

Aircraft circling the outside of the radar want to land – assign them a runway for landing from their menu.

Aircraft at the departure gate want to take off – assign them a runway for takeoff from their menu.

You will lose points while an aircraft flys through bad weather (the red patches on the radar). Aircraft may taxi through bad weather without losing points.

Pushing Tin allows you to try your hand at one of the most intense and demanding jobs in the world. As an Air Traffic Control Wannabe, your job is to safely get all aircraft from point A to point B as quickly and safely as possible. It starts off pretty easy but things can get out of hand as the levels increase. This game is based on an old Atari 800 game called Kennedy Approach which I loved playing back in the day.

Instructions

Issue clearances to the aircraft to get them all safely through your airspace. You can tell them to climb, descend, turn, depart and land. Collect more points by increasing the speed of the simulation. Watch out though, make a mistake while hot dogging and the penalties increase as well! The first few scenarios are intentionally slow so you can learn the basics. Later levels add thunderstorms and different types of aircraft. You’ll be wishing you could slow it down more. The in-game instructions and tutorials will provide more information. Have fun!
