Use the mouse to click same type blocks next to each other. 2 or more will clear the blocks. Shimmering blocks will clear all blocks of that type on screen. Bombs will clear a line of blocks. The "next" button will spawn a new line of blocks and give points. The timer at the bottom will spawn a new line of blocks.
